Autumn Events

We've had a super summer in Ashcombe, it's been warm and sunny nearly every day.  The Village Olympics were on 25th August and were a great success with the villages Ashcombe, Holcombe and Ideford competing in lots of rural themed events: The eventual winner this year was Ashcombe!

But we won't be stopping there!  The Ashcombe Horse and Dog show is on 8th September. Come along and watch the fun.. or even bring your dog if you are staying in one of our dog-friendly cottages.  Check out the Facebook page

The Village Olympics

The Village Olympics kicked off at 2pm on Sunday 26th August 2012.

The neighbouring villages of Ashcombe, Luton and Ideford battled it out in the Ashcombe Village Hall Fields and surrounding area as usual.

Events included: a 3 mile bicycle race around the gruelling "Ashcombe Triangle" circuit, giant hay-bale rolling, tug-of-war, childrens races, drink & spin, 7 seven-a-side football, steeple chase and wheelbarrow race. The event was won this year by Ideford.

The Jubilee BIG Lunch was lots of fun

The Diamond Jubilee BIG Lunch was held at the Ashcombe Village Hall.

Great fun with lots of cake consumed!
